Hi everyone, this is to inform you that ROTAC TRAINING will once again be doing training classes and qualifications for a wide variety of applications.

Right now, the NJ CCW Class is the one that is in demand.  We offer two different classes for that. You will need to take one of these blocks of instruction in order to get approval of CCW (Carry Permit) issued by the State of New Jersey.

The one class is our BASIC SAFETY & SKILLS CLASS.  This class is for the beginner (someone with no or very little experience with firearms).  This class will provide you with the Basics of shooting and Safety information, Familiarization with your particular handgun, loading and unloading of your firearm, Fundamentals of shooting, both the safe presentation and the re-holstering of the firearm.  It will prepare you for shooting the qualification course and for further training that you will need in order to become a responsible, confident gun carrying citizen.

The other class is designed to enhance the skills of a person that already has some knowledge and experience with shooting and the deployment of a handgun.  This block of instruction is designed to make you more knowledgeable and efficient in the operation and skills. It will build your confidence and will prepare you in the event that you have to deploy your gun.  Topics that will be covered in this class are: the draw, getting your weapon out of the holster and on your target as smooth and efficient as possible; the different cover modes in the event the weapon is drawn; the three types of topping off your weapon that you may need to perform in the event that you are in a gun fight; the three different types of malfunction clearing drills that you will need to be proficient and confident in performing.

With either of these classes, you will need to shoot and qualify under the NJ Mandated course of fire if you intend to apply for your NJ CCW Permit.  This is a 50 round course of fire and you need to pass with an 80% hit ratio on an FBI Q Target.  That means 40 out of 50 have to be within the border lines of the target.  Distance ranging from 3 yards to 15 yards no time limits.  You must shoot the qualification course DRAWING  FROM THE HOLSTER AND RECOVERING TO THE HOLSTER!  You will shoot from five different shooting distances, 10 rounds at each distance.

Both of these classes are full of information that is GOOD to know and information that you NEED to know.   One third of the class will be devoted to covering New Jersey Use of Force for Civilians.

In both classes the student will be provided with information handouts, certificate of completion, the instructor sign-off sheet, and copy of my certifications (that you will need to attach to your application, and targets).

Anyone attending either of these two classes will be responsible to bring their NJ Firearms ID Card and a picture ID, ie, NJDL, a firearm that they intend to qualify with (no 22 LR), 200 rounds of ammo, strong side holster, (no appendix or shoulder rigs), a magazine pouch, at least 2 magazines, eye and ear protection, and a baseball style cap.  You also need to bring your copy of the NJ Use of Force for Civilians, and you will need to have viewed the NJSP Safety & Awareness power point presentation prior to taking this training.

If you are interested in participating in a class, please text me at 215-416-0750, or e-mail me rotac2@gmail.com and I will provide you with additional information.

*** Just one point we will not tolerate any SAFETY violations!!!
